Welcome to RLM Industries. We are Investment casting specialists. If you are machining, die casting, stamping, forging, fabricating or using permanent molds or powder metal consider investment castings. Investment casting will save your company money by decreasing production time, while increasing product quality. Investment casting, also known as lost wax casting process, is extremely flexible and cost effective. The investment casting process creates a near-net-shape which greatly reduces the need for secondary machining. This process is highly suited for precision castings as very intricate shapes and designs can be produced using a variety of alloys that would be difficult if not impossible to create using more conventional casting and machining methods. Due to the fact that many parts can be poured in one casting production costs are greatly reduced. RLM Industries is a leader in the field of investment castings producing high quality components with a level of service that is unmatched in the industry.
RLM utilizes the latest technology in automated shell building systems.
It is common practice to dry shells in a large open room via conveyor system. Even with temperature and humidity controls in place, it is extremely difficult to regulate such a large area. Because of the inconsistent environment, the molds tend to dry at different rates and degrees depending upon where they are placed in the room. If the molds are not sufficiently dry when they are poured, surface imperfections may develop or the metal may simply run out at a weak point in the mold. Our new shell system consists of a computer controlled electric robot, which dips the molds in ceramic materials and places the shells into a compact self-contained drying tower. Temperature, humidity and airflow are tightly monitored and controlled by the computer to insure proper drying. We are looking forward to improved consistency and overall quality from our new system.
